At room temperature, 16.2g (0.1mol) of phenopentanone and 30.9g (0.3mol) of sodium bromide were added into a 500mL round-bottomed flask, and after stirring well, 24g (0.2mol) of 30% hydrochloric acid was added, and 19g (0.15mol) of 30% hydrogen peroxide was slowly added. After the reaction was monitored by TLC, the stirring was stopped, the stratification was stopped, washed with saturated sodium carbonate and saturated salt water, combined with organic phase, concentrated and dried with anhydrous magnesium sulfate to obtain 2-bromo-1-phenyl-1-pentanone, a bright yellow oily liquid with 95% yield. Purity 98% (HPLC method).
